Working closely with some of the architectural and construction industries leading vendors, W J Cadzow and Associates Ltd has constantly invested in its people, training, quality procedures and support infrastructure, demonstrating compliance with our business partners strict criteria; along the way, developing a unique understanding of the design and construction industry. We take great pleasure in putting all that knowledge to good use.
Our clients range from large multi-national companies, small local businesses through to individual home owners. We pride ourselves on the high standard, friendly and approachable services that we offer to all our clients.
No project is too large or small. We have worked on simple extensions through to large scale commercial developments. Most of our work tends to be bespoke, and we work with the client on both time frames and budget to offer them exactly what they need.
Below are some of our company milestones and some interesting projects we have been fortunate enough to work on over the years.
The company W J Cadzow was formed in 1985 and was the brainchild of Bill Cadzow. Bills’ vision was to specialise in providing a high quality contract draughting service and design solutions. He first started out using traditional draughting methods (drawing machine, paper, ink pens and rubbers) and then in early 1989 he moved onto computer-aided draughting.
Bill formed a new partnership creating Multitech Draughting Ltd, and in 1989 commenced contract draughting for Queenstown Architect John Blair, producing the tender and construction drawings for the new Commerce Building at the University of Otago.
Produced drawings for new administration offices within the first floor ward block of the Dunedin Hospital for the Otago Health Board.
Partnership finished and Bill continued trading as WJ Cadzow & Associates
W J Cadzow & Associates Ltd moved into a new office space at 29A Gladstone Road in Mosgiel, where the Dunedin Office still resides.
Contract draughting for Michael Wyatt Architect Ltd. Produced construction drawings for the new 10 story accommodation wing at the Hermitage Hotel at Mt Cook, as well as additions and alterations to the existing dining room, café and reception area. We also produced the precast concrete shop drawings for the 10 story accommodation wing for Bradford Precast in Ashburton.
Contract Draughting for McCoy and Wixon Architects in Dunedin. We produced the architectural construction drawings for the new Unicol accommodation wings for the University of Otago. W J Cadzow & Associates also produced the structural drawings for Hadley & Robinson Ltd - Structural Engineers.
Contract draughting for John Blair Architect to produce construction documentation for a new Bottling Hall at Craggy Range Vineyard Ltd – Hawke's Bay.
Contract draughting for John Blair Architect to produce construction drawings for the new Duncan Residence – Lake Hayes Queenstown.
Contract draughting for Michael Wyatt Architect Ltd. Produced construction drawings for the new Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre and museum at the Hermitage, Mount Cook.
The Auckland office of W J Cadzow & Associates Ltd was formed and started acquiring work from around Auckland and the North Island.
Produced the building consent documentation for the new Botswana Butchery restaurant fit-out in the Historic Ferry Building on Auckland’s waterfront for the Good Group Ltd.
Produced the building consent documentation for the new Quest Apartments on Bank Street in Whangarei.
Contract draughting work for Bradford Precast Ltd. Produced the precast concrete shop drawings for the stair panels of the new Justice Precinct development in Christchurch.
